The MG Windsor EV, MG Motor India's latest addition to its electric vehicle lineup, has become the best-selling EV in the Indian market for October, overtaking the Tata Nexon EV.

Recently launched, the MG Windsor has rapidly established itself as a prominent contender in India’s EV sector. In October alone, it accounted for 30% of total wholesale EV sales, with daily bookings reportedly exceeding 200 units.

One of the key factors driving the Windsor’s popularity is its innovative battery-as-a-service (BaaS) model. This approach allows customers to purchase the car without a battery, instead opting to pay for battery usage as required. By reducing upfront costs, this pay-per-use system aims to attract cost-conscious buyers.

Equipped with a 38kWh battery pack, the Windsor EV offers a claimed range of 331 km. Its electric motor delivers 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, ensuring a smooth and responsive driving experience. The vehicle also features four driving modes: Eco, Eco+, Normal, and Sport.

While Tata Motors remains the leader in India’s EV segment, its market share is gradually declining. To strengthen its position, Tata has introduced new models, including the Curvv EV and an extended-range version of the Nexon EV.

As the MG Windsor EV makes a strong impression in India, there’s promising news for the Nepali market as well. Paramount Motors Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of MG Motors in Nepal, has hinted at plans to bring the MG Windsor to Nepal soon.
